We joyfully celebrate the ordination of one of our distinguished alumni as a deacon in the Anglican Diocese of Buye. Revd. Deacon Jerome Rivuzimana is joining many others who have received their theological foundation at Bujumbura Christian University (BCU).
This is more than a personal achievement—it is a testament to the quality of training offered at BCU, where students from all over the country and beyond come together to be equipped for impactful service in the community.

At BCU, we are proud to see our graduates stepping into ministry roles that serve and strengthen the Church and the country. This ordination highlights our mission to equip leaders who are spiritually grounded, academically prepared, and pastorally effective.

Led by the Vice-Chancellor, a university delegation attended the event to show strong support for the Church and its growing servant-leadership. The presence of BCU at this key ecclesiastical moment highlights our ongoing partnership with dioceses across Burundi in raising up well-equipped ministers of the Gospel.
Revd Gérance Manirambona, Academic Director of BCU, addressed the congregation on behalf of the university. He extended warm congratulations to the Diocese of Buye for this important milestone in strengthening its pastoral workforce, which includes several proud BCU alumni. He also took the opportunity to encourage parents and church leaders to consider BCU as the ideal place for young men and women who feel called to ministry, education, and community service.
