The Graduation Ceremony in Theology

Thirteen students in Theology graduated on February 12, 2019. These are the very first laureates of the Bujumbura Christian University (BCU). The day was wonderfully significant.

Over 200 honorable guests had responded to the invitation.  In addition to the Anglican church officials and members,  national and international partners and friends of the university attended the ceremony. The relatives of the graduates accompanied theirs to the event. The Vice-Chancellor Emeritus of the BCU Donald K. Werner Had come with Dick, another friend of the University in the UK.

Theology students ordained for their ministry

At the Saint Luke Cathedral -Gitega, the service was conducted by the bishop of Gitega Anglican diocese, bishop John Wesley Nduwayo. Delegations from all other dioceses of the Church of Burundi were there.To be ordained were three candidates to priesthood  and two candidates to be deacons. the university had among them one candidate to priest and another for deaconhood.

Soon promised, soon done. During his last visit to Burundi, the Archbishop of Canterbury had, together with the Archbishop of Burundi, The Most Reverend Martin Blaise NYABOHO, broken the ground to mark the beginning of the construction activities for the university's campus.

Learning by International experienced lecturers

National and international lecturers contribute to enhance the learning at the Theology faculty. From this year's start, we are seeing lecturers committed to providing and facilitating the learning at BCU.

VISIT OF ARCHBISHOP JUSTIN WELBY

The Archbishop of Canterbury visited the university closely followed by the security forces on 5 March 2016. He was accompanied by the Archbishop and Bishops of the Anglican Church of Burundi.

The new term's start at BCU

After the break, students are glad to regain the campus for the new term start.  We thank God that all of them have been able to come back safe.

The university's term in process is getting to its end. The academic activities are moving smoothly towards the end of the year. Accordingly, the new term is about to start. Along with the academic activities, the construction process for the new campus of Gikungu is in a good speed.
